Corporate History:
DesignTech Inc., established in 2000, offers quality design and progressive solutions to our clients mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire suppression systems needs. Our goal is to establish and maintain good relationships with our clients. We want to provide our clients the engineering support they need to keep their businesses and facilities successful, and productive. We currently have two offices. Our main office is in Kensington, MD. Our second office is located the Lansdowne development in Leesburg, VA. The Virginia office provides our clients with better coverage for the northern Virginia area and also addresses the growing issue of reducing our staff's commuting time. This fits into our primary goals of providing quality services while maintaining an enthusiastic staff.
Management Philosophy:
The main goal of management at DesignTech is to ensure that the staff has the support and resources to complete quality design projects to satisfy our clients needs. We do the following to achieve these goals:
• Assure that resources are available so all project deadlines are met.
• Conduct scheduling meetings to determine workload projections and streamline scheduling.
• Oversee the technical aspects of the projects to assure technical completeness and accuracy.
• Mentor the staff.
• Evaluate staff performance.

Principal, Mechanical PE
Mr. Igo has over 30 years of experience in the consulting engineering field. He established DesignTech in 2000. As a principal at the firm he is responsible for overseeing the operation of the company including business development, staff assignment and scheduling. Mr. Igo is involved in overseeing design, as well as quality control, for the mechanical, plumbing and fire suppression aspects of projects. His design experience includes a wide variety of projects and facility types including: commercial office, telecommunications, data centers, broadcast, educational facilities, laboratories, health care, multi-unit residential complexes and light industrial facilities. Mr. Igo has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the consulting engineering business ranging from estimating, preparation of plans and specifications, project management and construction administration. For three years prior to forming DesignTech Mr. Igo was a principal at Encon Group responsible for overseeing the work of the mechanical engineers and designers at the firm. Prior to this Mr. Igo worked for seven years at SME Consulting Engineers. He entered the firm as a design engineer and rose to the position of mechanical department head. Earlier Mr. Igo worked for three years as a mechanical engineer at Shooshanian Engineers a 120-man firm in Boston Ma. He began his career as a mechanical designer at Energy Services and Management Corp. a full service design/build energy services company where he focused on energy driven building retrofit projects.
